 Simile:  
 
A figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as.   
Example:   
You are as dumb as a door.  
 
Metaphor:   
A figure of speech when a word or phrase that is usually used for one thing is used for another, making a comparison.   
Example   
A sea of troubles.   
Personification  
 
When something that is not human is described with human like characteristics.

The sea raged with anger

Speed Poetry Night!

That's right, we are having a Speed Poetry Night! =diamond281 and `leaf-lover and a few to be confirmed judges!

Prizes will be available to those who win each round. You will be given a theme, then 30 minutes to write a piece. We will judge and we will announce the winners of each round when the judging is complete :aww:
